The VALA AI QA discovery cards help teams explore practical ways AI can support software quality.
VALA’s AI QA discovery cards give you information and inspiration but most importantly they guide you into meaningful discussions with your colleagues.
Each card presents one concrete opportunity; from improving requirements and test design to supporting automation, test data, failure analysis, regression and AI system evaluation. Some ideas can already be applied with today’s tools. Others point towards more advanced ways of working as AI capabilities evolve.

A starting point for better quality work
The purpose is not to apply AI everywhere. The cards help teams discuss:
- where quality work still requires too much manual effort
- where AI could improve speed, consistency or insight
- which ideas fit the current systems, tools and ways of working
- what could be worth trying next
The most useful opportunities depend on the team, technology, risks, data and business context.
How to use the cards?
1. Identify 2–3 quality challenges
Start with the problems that matter most today. Where is quality work slow, manual, unclear or unreliable?
2. Browse the cards individually
Go through the cards and choose the ideas that could best help with those challenges. Each person selects their own favourites.
3. Compare and discuss
Share your selections and discuss why they stood out. Choose 3–5 ideas that create the most interest or seem most useful.
4. Review what implementation would involve
Use the card type — standalone, connected or agentic — to discuss what the idea would require in practice. Consider things like data, integrations, access, security, human review and changes to current ways of working.
5. Choose what to try first
Pick one or two ideas and define the first practical step: what to try, where to try it, who should be involved and what you need to get started. VALA can help you turn the selected ideas into practical experiments and implementation steps.
From individual ideas to a living quality system
The cards can also support a longer-term direction: together, selected ideas can be turned into step-by-step actions and more connected AI-enabled quality practices. Over time, this can lead towards a living quality system, where requirements, tests, automation, delivery and production insights continuously support each other, and AI helps teams use that information throughout the software lifecycle.
